Corporación Espacios de Mujer, based in Medellín, is a Colombian non-profit organisation dedicated to providing shelter, comprehensive support, and psychosocial assistance to women experiencing poverty, gender-based violence, and social exclusion. Its work focuses particularly on women who are survivors of human trafficking, single mothers, and female heads of household living in situations of high vulnerability.
The partnership between PRO.DO.C.S. and Corporación Espacios de Mujer dates back to the organisation’s very beginnings. From its earliest stages, PRO.DO.C.S. believed in its mission and helped strengthen its first reception and support services, contributing to greater visibility for the challenges faced by vulnerable women while expanding the range of services and opportunities available to promote their social inclusion. Over the years, the collaboration has grown through initiatives aimed at promoting human development, women’s empowerment, and combating poverty and social exclusion. Together, the two organisations have combined basic assistance with psychosocial support, vocational training, and opportunities for economic empowerment, helping women build more independent and secure futures.
In 2026, PRO.DO.C.S. continues to support the organisation through activities focused on reception and psychosocial care, life skills education, gender-based violence prevention, income-generation training, and the strengthening of community support networks. The partnership reflects a long-term commitment built on mutual trust, shared values, and the belief that sustainable development begins by empowering people. Together, PRO.DO.C.S. and Corporación Espacios de Mujer work to ensure that the women they support can become active agents of their own social inclusion, resilience, and economic independence.
