Tecnológico COREDI (Corporación Educativa para el Desarrollo Integral) is a Colombian higher education institution with extensive experience in promoting education, community engagement, and local development across the Department of Antioquia. Its work focuses particularly on supporting young people from rural areas and communities that have long faced social, economic, and educational inequalities.
By adopting a place-based approach, COREDI works to expand access to higher education and support students throughout their academic journey. Its programmes are closely connected to the needs of local communities, promoting sustainable development while strengthening rural identities and local knowledge.
COREDI is active across several subregions of Antioquia, including Oriente, Nordeste, Magdalena Medio, and Bajo Cauca. Although these areas have a strong agricultural tradition, they continue to face challenges related to limited access to innovation, quality employment, and specialised education and training.
The partnership between PRO.DO.C.S. and COREDI began in 2025 through an initial dialogue made possible by the presence of Universal Civil Service volunteers working with the Fundación Salva Terra. Since 2026, the collaboration has continued to grow, with an increasing number of volunteers supporting COREDI’s activities, making the institution one of PRO.DO.C.S.’s main host organisations for the Italian Universal Civil Service programme in Colombia.
Together, PRO.DO.C.S. and COREDI are working to develop a shared model of education for sustainable rural development, combining PRO.DO.C.S.’s experience in international cooperation with COREDI’s deep knowledge of local communities, education, and territorial development.
The partnership aims to create more educational and professional opportunities for young people in rural areas, helping to address rural depopulation while promoting agroecology, youth leadership, and sustainable livelihoods. At its core is the belief that rural territories are not peripheral spaces, but places of innovation, participation, and social transformation.
By joining forces, PRO.DO.C.S. and COREDI share a common vision: empowering young people to become active drivers of local development, supporting their choice to build their futures in rural communities, and creating new educational, social, and economic opportunities across Antioquia.
